Position: Network Administrator

Type: Full Time

Location: Fort Bragg, NC

 

Overview: INTER-OP is looking for a full time Network Administrator to support the Womack Army Medical Center (WAMC) at Fort Bragg, NC. This position oversees the day-to-day operation of computer networks including hardware/software support, training, special projects and data connectivity for LAN and wide area network (WAN) systems. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Assist in coordinating special projects including network related wiring plans, LAN/WAN hardware/software purchases, and system installation, backup, maintenance and problem solving Set up, configure, and support internal and/or external networks
  • Develop and maintain all systems, applications, security, and network configurations
  • Assist in coordinating special projects including network related wiring plans, LAN/WAN hardware/software purchases, and system installation, backup, maintenance and problem solving
  • Assist in providing network and remote connectivity hardware/software support; maintain LAN user documentation including hardware/software applications, support logs and other related information
  • Assist in planning, coordinating and consulting with vendors and clients for hardware/software purchases, product services and support; recommends and specifies the purchase of related products and services
  • Recommend upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment
  • Keep current regarding new hardware/software products for system enhancements; assists and provides support to the Technology Support/Trainers as necessary
  • Provide technical support and guidance to users

Requirements (education/experience/certifications):

  • Must obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Local Agency and Credit Check (NACLC) clearance authorization
  • This is an IAT/IAM Level position as defined in DoD 8570.01-M which requires the appropriate certification/accreditation
  • Two (2) years of professional experience and possess a CCNA
  • Must have prior experience as the primary technical lead designing/implementing a network project, preferably in a secure environment
  • Experience with current network equipment, such as, Cisco Catalyst switches (3750, 4500, and 6500 series), Cisco Nexus 7000 series, VPN concentrators, Cisco Firewall Service Module (FWSM) or similar equipment
  • Experience with complex networking technologies, such as spanning-tree, Cisco Virtual Switching System (VSS), HSRP, VLANs, ether channel, routing protocols, and best practices for securing the network infrastructure  
  • Experience with network testing and troubleshooting tools to include packet analyzers, Fluke network tester (OneTouch, Opt iView, and Waverunner)
  • Experience with network management systems (i.e. Cisco Works, Solar winds Orion) and operations support systems (Asset Management Tools/DB). Able to adapt to changing work efforts, manage impact of shifting priorities, and resolve technical emergencies as they may occur
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
