Position: Deputy Program Manager

Summary

INTER-OP is currently seeking a Program Manager to provide management for a program that will provide support services to the National Science Foundation in northern Virginia. The ideal candidate will have experience working in support of the National Science Foundation and interfacing with government personnel to ensure conformance to work standards. This individual will be responsible for contract technical and management direction for a large team of IT support personnel.

Requirements (education/experience/certifications)

  • Intimate knowledge of customer and customer environment.
  • Demonstrated experience driving complex issues to closure with internal and external customers.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a complex Information Management / Information Technology program.
  • Experience with authoring program documentation, including management plans, reports, quality plans etc...
  • Oversee cost, schedule, and resource management through industry-standard processes and tools, including Microsoft Project, Visio, Office, and more.
  • Ability to provide guidance and direction in multiple tasks across several functional areas and including the use of different technologies.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for all program-related inquiries and responsibilities. Interface with customers, vendors, and other stakeholders as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years experience with IT program/project management working in support of the federal government.
  • Master's degree in an Information Technology or Business related.
  • Demonstrated experience in a Federal IT environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of industry accepted standards and best practices related to Information Management operations, and with Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) best practices.
  • Previous experience supporting and interfacing with senior executive stakeholders.
  • ITIL Foundations or higher certification.
  • Possess excellent organizational management skills.
