Position: System Administrator

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Perform customer service and support to include service desk tickets, telephone requests, walk-in support requests and customer escort.
  • Provide support to implement and install new systems hardware, software and develop local technical standard operating procedures.
  • Provide the necessary expertise to ensure all system nodes and supporting network are maintained in an operational state.
  • Provide support to install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain the Picture Archiving Systems (PACS), PowerScribe, Laboratory Interface Operations (LIO), robotic Drug Dispensing Systems such as Pharm2000 (Parata system), Q-Flow system as well as all relevant peripheral network equipment such as medical devices, printers, switches, cabling system, and network interface cards.
  • Identify and resolve any degradation, unusual activities, or system downtime.
  • Perform system and server backups and restoration of systems/servers as required.
  • Perform server administration to include the administration of, but not limited to, file, web, SQL, or printer servers. Administrative duties will include, but are not limited to, installation, configuration, setup, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and decommissioning of servers and associated equipment and hardware.
  • Provide support to install, configure and troubleshoot the clinical systems electronic health record (i.e., Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA)/Composite Health Care System (CHCS)), and install, troubleshoot, and perform repairs, for microcomputers, terminals, mobile devices, peripherals, and software.
  • Install and maintain the current software product baselines.
  • Assist in on-hand product analysis; network/system expansion analysis; system documentation analysis; user instruction or training; and system and network Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve all operational and software problems associated with network and stand-alone printers.
  • Perform LAN/WLAN, and PC maintenance services, including but not limited to, administrator functions for e-mail, users/groups, and print servers; LAN/WLAN server and PC hardware and software services such as troubleshooting, installing, upgrading, and testing of LAN/WLAN components.
  • Analyze requirements and propose best solutions for network approaches.
  • Perform storage administration to include that of Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices.

Requirements (education/experience/certifications):

  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field of study, or six (6) or more years related experience.
  • Must have a 'SECRET' security clearance.
  • Must have a current and valid DoD8570.1-M IAT Level II certification (ie CompTIA Security+).
  • Familiar and competent working with the following: Active Directory Services, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), TCP/IP, Windows Office, Windows XP, Windows 7 and Active Directory Utility tools.
  • Ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment is essential.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work efforts, manage impact of shifting priorities, and resolve technical issues as they occur.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, team environment. Excellent verbal and written communication.
